Heard THAT before, right? Well, not from someone who actually does it. I talk with others. Constantly. It’s vital to discuss what’s bugging us or holding us up (or even what’s going kinda awesome). That’s how to manifest the energy to all jump in, help each other figure things out and get stuff done — as a team.
human
We are all human, yes. Yet when it comes to work, people turn into robots or monsters or worse. That’s not cool. Or very useful. There’s an artform to dropping the ego and the insecurity and realizing that the people we work with are just as much of a person as we are. That unlocks getting the most out of our teammates — which unlocks the best work; the kind of work that also recognizes the humanity in our audiences.

The quickest way to lose anyone’s attention is to show ‘em something they’ve seen before. That ain’t gonna cut it. I promise you’ve never met a teammate/creative/strategic thinker like me before, and you’ll always get surprisingly purposeful and original work as a result.
Transparent
Honesty IS the best policy. I expect it from myself, from others and from clients. It helps nobody to pull punches or hold back compliments. Lay it on the table. That’s the only way to know work is actually moving in the right direction.
resourceful
Not gonna lie (see “Transparent”), I might not always know how to do something. But I definitely know how to start, how to bark up the right trees and how to make things happen. I will figure out how to figure it out. And then it’ll get done super well. Whatever it is.
